After reviewing all of the pre-entries, we
had to make the unpleasant decision to cancel the show. As in any
event, pre-entry gives an indication to the promoter what type of turn
out may occur, thus determining or giving some factor the level of
participation. The committed turn out through pre-entries were way
lower than expected. As a result, we are contacting all participants,
sponsors, and other entities participating in the event and letting
them know of our decision. Maybe it's the economy or the timing of
the show - who knows. We put together a package most thought would be
successful. Sanctioning events of the
IBRA,
WPRA,
SEBRA all supplied with great livestock from Rafter
M Rodeo Company (Dennis Morris ) along with one of the best facilities in Georgia -
GIHP.
I have always been honest and straight forward and want to thank each
and every contestants, sponsor and fan who was looking forward to this
event. If the event was not going to be at the level I expect, then I
would rather take my losses, refund your money in full so that you and
your family could make other plans for the Memorial Day weekend. I
made an attempt to speak to each and every contestant, sponsor and
sanctioning representative by calling them on the phone to explain to
them this unfortunate situation and if they had any questions. I was
very surprised of the support that many of you gave me for making this
unpopular decision.
We
are returning 100% of the participants entry money back as well as 100%
of the Sponsors money back. You will find a check for your full refund
or your original check with "VOID" written across the check attached to
this letter.
Enclose, thank you for your support and I will look at changing the dates in the future to move forward.
Sincerely,
Russell Landrum Acting Manager of
